Healing with Sound
Sound frequencies are experienced by the body, mind and emotions and help bring one into a state of harmony and health. I use a variety of instruments and at times, my voice, in my sound baths.
“A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite therapeutic and restorative effects to the mind and body.”
— Sara Auster, from ‘Sound Bath’
What to expect
There is no water involved and you do not need a swimsuit! A sound bath is a meditative experience where you are bathed in sound waves produced by instruments and the human voice. Participating in a sound bath is an opportunity for you to pause, let go of life’s distractions and listen, be present and engaged in a sound experience.
When you come into a sound bath, you lie down (or sit), make yourself comfortable and give yourself permission to switch off, slow down, be open and relax. You will be invited to allow the sound to bathe you, and to support you with whatever is going on in your life such as stress, tension, and anxiety.
Each sound experience will be unique as the instruments are played intuitively rather than in an organised way with a prearranged sequence of sounds. You will hear various sound instruments being played which include gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls and percussion instruments. I will provide a caring, compassionate, safe, supportive space during and after your sound session. The sound space is a neutral space of no judgement. You can trust me to allow you to just be how you are. Confidentiality is assured.
How can sound help you?
Therapeutic sound helps to balance the emotions and quieten a busy mind as well as relieve tension, stress and anxiety caused by overstimulation in our hectic modern world.
It can have a positive effect on your well-being leaving you feeling calm, peaceful and relaxed. It’s been known to help with the effects of some physical illnesses because it allows you to relax and unwind.
Reaching a state of relaxation can help reduce stress hormones, lower blood pressure and activate endorphins. The aim of a sound bath is to enable you to reach a meditative state and an awareness of the present through the practice of deep listening. If during the sound bath, you experience ‘brain chatter’ and your mind wanders, simply bringing your awareness back to the sound brings you back into the present moment again.

One-to-one Sound Healing
I offer 1:1 sessions at my home using crystal bowls, Himalayan bowls and gongs.
When you come for a sound treatment, you’ll lie on a therapy couch. During the session, I’ll play a variety of singing bowls around you and if needed, I may also place them on your body and play them.
If you opt for a gong treatment, I will play different gongs around the body during the sound session.
The sound emitted from the bowls and the gongs can help to balance your energy system and support your mental, emotional, and physical health.
This experience will be relaxing, allowing you to unwind and be enveloped in sounds. At the end of the session, we will discuss your sound experience.
Before your treatment, I’ll send you a client form to complete and some information about the session so that you know more about what to expect.
I’m currently available for 1:1 sound sessions on Thursday afternoons and Fridays. If you would like to book an appointment, please contact me.
Investment: £45 per hour.
Private Groups
I am happy to offer a sound bath to a private group. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements. Cost depends on the number of people attending and whether I need to hire a venue hire or if I come to you.
